oil spill cause and effects
A boat crashed into a pipe containing many gallons of oil. The pipe started to leak into the gulf of Mexico and is still leaking. 11 people died an the boat sank during the tragic accident. Therefore, the company is loosing a lot of money. The oil spill is so huge that they are having trouble controlling it and it is spreading into the Florida keys. Bp did not change the batteries so then the rig crashed into the pipe containing many millions of gallons of oil.
Attempted solution
One attempted plan was that they tried to clog the pipe. The problem with that is that the Gulf is very very deep. Another attempted solution is that they tried to build a wall to keep the oil in the area that it is already in. The problem with that is that the concrete will sink. We think that a good soultion to fix the oil spill would be to burn it but there would be many risks that we would take doing that. Another soultion that we have come up with is toput giant tubes allround the oil and then suck it up!

the deaths caused by the oil spill
11 people died in this tragic accident as well as the boat sinking. Because of this, BP may be blamed for the 11 deaths that occurred. Some employees that work for BP may also loose their jobs because of the major loss of oil.
The Oil Spill
On April 20, a rig crashed into a pipe containing millions of gallons of oil. the oil still continues to spill. they are having trouble controlling it. We worry that it will spread into the Keys of Florida and maybe into the great lakes. It may greatly effect the economy of many different countries such as Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean countries and the very north part of south America. If we can not stop it soon, it may become the largest oil spill to ever occur in American history.

Recent news on the oil spill, the huge spill is starting to reach the shore of Louisiana. scientists are finding some damage to the coast but they are mostly worried about what they cannot see, plants and animals. More and more animals are showing up along the shore with oil covering them from head to toe.

Oil in the Ocean
Did you know that not to long ago near the coast of Louisiana there was a rig that ran right into a pipe containing millions of gallons of oil. Bp has been loosing money and business as the large spill drains into the great Gulf of Mexico. The government has also been losing money trying to fix the problem. The economy will also be effected by this oil spill because BP is loosing money so the people that work for BP will loose their jobs.
